Title: Behind the Scenes of a Wine and Spirit Photoshoot with Welbee’s Supermarket
Are you curious about what goes into creating the perfect shot for a wine and spirit photoshoot? As a professional advertising photographer, I had the pleasure of working on a recent photoshoot with Welbee’s Supermarket, and I’m excited to share some behind-the-scenes details with you.
Before the actual day of the shoot, there was a lot of preparation involved. The client requested a detailed list of all the props required, and I advised them on base and background choices based on the image mockups they provided. We carefully selected props to go along with each bottle, and I suggested having bases with different heights to add visual interest.
I also advised the client to remove the back labels of the bottles to allow light to shine through, but due to resale value, the client decided to keep all labels intact. We took extra height and width into consideration since the images would be used for a catalog that would be distributed to many households around the island.
To add some extra flair to the images, we included food such as platters and other Christmas food assortments that complemented each bottle type, including whiskies, single malts, brandies, white spirits like gin and vodka, and red and white wine.
Consistency was key for this project, as all the images had to be consistent with minimal variations in background lighting since they were printed full page next to one another leaving a slight gradient for text to show. Lighting, styling and composition played a crucial role in creating the perfect shot, as we had to leave space for design text and prices. I also took great care to ensure that all labels on the bottles were visible in the final shots. This involved positioning the lights at just the right angles to ensure that the gold and silver labels caught the light and shone brilliantly.
The final catalogue turned out to be stunning, and I’m proud of the work we did. You can see the final result of the photoshoot on Welbee’s Supermarket’s Youtube page. As a professional advertising photographer, I understand that preparation is crucial to the success of any photoshoot. With careful planning and attention to detail, we were able to deliver high-quality images that met the client’s expectations. Overall, working on this photoshoot was a fantastic experience, and I’m grateful to have been a part of it.
